2026 Shihan Appointments

We are excited to share the following news from Aikikai World Headquarters:

"The Examination Committee for Appointment of Shihan, recently held in Aikido World Headquarters, has taken the decision to appoint all persons for whom we received applications from USAF as Shihan in accordance with the International Regulations and Rules for Appointment of Shihan.

Please note that they may use the title of Shihan in their Aikido activities related to your Hombu Recognized Organization in your country hereafter. However, no additional power or authority accompanies the title of Shihan, but it shows their qualification as Aikido instructors of the highest rank."
